Ibizan nights at Villa Cielo are lit up by the original design and luxurious details of the Muse Outdoor lantern
Perched on the sunny hilltops of the most famous party island in the Mediterranean, the aptly named Villa Cielo (Villa of the Sky) dominates the sea and the nearby pine forest. This is a clear manifesto for modernity and utmost respect for the surrounding landscape.
A traditional Spanish finca, it was originally restored in the 1970s by Canadian architect Rolph Blakstad, and has now been brought back toits former splendour by Oscar Lucien Ono and the House Number 20 team.
Despite its extreme modernity and state-of-the-art mod cons, the villa still maintains a perfect balance between tradition and modernity.
To emphasise the contemporary and natural architecture of the villa and the purity of its dry lines and graphics, Oscar Lucien Ono has stripped back this space. He has kept only the walls for the rework in a contemporary and daring style, by opening it completely to the outside and keeping ancient architectural elements – including the wooden beams and the exterior structure of the chimney – which testify to the villa’s past.
Both indoor and outdoor spaces are envisioned as a vibrant hymn to nature: the master bedroom’s large windows and the living room, with its 360° view of the Mediterranean and the forest, and decorative touches of blue and yellow. The same colours are found outdoors in the pool area.
In the evening, the elegant veranda, lit by the Muse Outdoor lanterns, becomes an open-air living room and a stage for glamorous dinner parties and sparkling conversations with friends – ideal for dining al fresco and enjoying the breathtaking panorama.
Along the same lines, the iconic Muse Outdoor, designed by Tristan Auer, harmoniously combines traditional elements with modern details – and so the classic lantern receives a modern twist, conveyed by luxurious details and cutting-edge materials.
The Muse Outdoor has become a staple for illuminating outdoor areas in refined residential and hospitality contexts alike. The portable battery-operated version is the preferred choice for yachts and superyachts.
